A single dental implant in Kerala costs between ₹28,000 and ₹65,000 in 2026 for a standard tooth, including the implant screw, the abutment, and the ceramic crown. The range is wide because several things drive the price, particularly the implant brand, whether you need a bone graft, and which city you are in.

The headline number

The ₹28,000–₹65,000 range covers what most patients pay at mainstream tier-A and tier-B Kerala clinics. Premium clinics using top-tier implant systems may charge up to ₹85,000–₹1,10,000. Anything quoted below ₹28,000 usually means a part of the procedure (the crown, the abutment, or the scans) is being charged separately, so always ask for an all-inclusive quote.

ComponentCost range
Implant (the titanium screw)₹18,000 – ₹42,000
Abutment (the connector)₹3,500 – ₹8,000
Crown (ceramic / zirconia)₹6,000 – ₹14,000
Initial CBCT scan₹1,500 – ₹3,500
Bone grafting (if needed)₹8,000 – ₹35,000
Typical all-in single implant₹28,000 – ₹65,000

City-by-city price comparison

Within Kerala, prices vary by city — both because of real differences in clinic operating costs and because of supply density. Kochi and Trivandrum tend to be at the higher end. Thrissur and Palakkad are more affordable for comparable quality.

CitySingle implant (all-in)Premium tier
Kochi₹32,000 – ₹68,000₹85,000 – ₹1,10,000
Trivandrum₹30,000 – ₹62,000₹78,000 – ₹95,000
Calicut₹28,000 – ₹58,000₹72,000 – ₹88,000
Thrissur₹26,000 – ₹52,000₹65,000 – ₹82,000
Palakkad₹24,000 – ₹48,000

What actually drives the price

1. The implant brand

The single biggest cost driver. Implant systems from Straumann (Switzerland), Nobel Biocare (Switzerland/USA), and Astra Tech (Sweden) are the premium options at ₹35,000–₹50,000 for the screw alone. Mid-tier systems from Osstem (Korea), MIS (Israel) or Dentium (Korea) typically come in at ₹20,000–₹30,000 with comparable clinical evidence. Cheaper systems exist below this but with less long-term evidence and weaker warranty terms. Ask which brand is being used, and check the warranty period.

2. Whether bone grafting is needed

If you have lost a tooth several years ago and the surrounding bone has resorbed, your jawbone may not be dense enough for an implant without grafting. A CBCT scan at your first consultation will reveal this. Grafting adds ₹8,000–₹35,000 depending on technique, and may add 3–6 months to your treatment timeline because the graft needs to integrate first.

3. The crown that finishes the implant

The crown sits on top of the implant and is what you can see and chew with. Ceramic crowns are the standard at ₹6,000–₹10,000. Zirconia crowns are more durable and aesthetic at ₹10,000–₹14,000. Avoid quotes where the crown is unspecified.

4. The dentist's experience

An implant is a small surgical procedure with a measurable failure rate. Dentists with specific implantology training and 100+ implants placed have higher success rates. This typically adds ₹5,000–₹15,000 over a generalist. On our clinic listings we name the specific dentist patients credit with implant treatments in their reviews.

The hidden costs people forget

  • CBCT scan (₹1,500–₹3,500). Required before placement. Sometimes bundled, sometimes billed separately.
  • Antibiotics and pain medication (₹400–₹1,200). Mostly a 5-7 day prescription after placement.
  • Multiple visits. An implant procedure spans 3-6 months from start to crown. Plan for 4-6 visits.
  • Follow-up checks (free at most clinics). But confirm.
  • Travel + accommodation if you are an NRI. Time your visits so the major sittings line up with your Kerala stay.

Multiple implants — the rule of thumb

If you need more than one implant in the same visit, most Kerala clinics will discount the second and subsequent implants by ₹3,000–₹8,000 each — because the surgical preparation, scans, and bed time are amortised.

Number of implantsTypical Kerala all-in cost
Single implant₹28,000 – ₹65,000
Two implants (same visit)₹50,000 – ₹1,15,000
Three implants₹72,000 – ₹1,60,000
Full arch on 4 implants (All-on-4)₹2,80,000 – ₹5,50,000
Full mouth (both arches, 8 implants)₹5,20,000 – ₹10,50,000

For NRIs planning a Kerala implant trip

A meaningful share of implant inquiries we expect at this site will come from Malayalee NRIs in the UAE, Oman, Saudi and Qatar, doing the procedure in Kerala while visiting family. A few practical points:

  • The procedure spans 3-6 months. Most NRIs structure it as two trips, one for placement and one for the crown fitting, spaced 3-4 months apart.
  • WhatsApp consultation before flying lets the clinic confirm whether your case is suitable, which brand they would use, and what the all-in quote is.
  • Kochi clinics near Edappally are closest to Cochin International Airport, useful if your visit is short.
  • Get the CBCT scan in your first visit so the surgery date is committed before you return home.

Frequently asked questions

Are Kerala implants of comparable quality to those done abroad?

Yes, assuming you choose a clinic using a premium or mid-tier implant brand (Straumann, Nobel, Osstem, MIS, Dentium) and a dentist with implant experience. The procedure and the materials are the same. What differs is cost, not clinical outcome. Several Kochi clinics in our review data treat patients from the UK and Maldives for this reason.

What happens if the implant fails?

Modern implants have a low long-term failure rate, but it is not zero. Most clinics offer warranty replacement of the implant if it fails to integrate within a defined window (typically 5-10 years). Confirm the warranty terms upfront and get them in writing.

Is bone grafting always required?

No. It depends on how much bone you have. Patients who lost a tooth less than 6-12 months ago usually have enough bone for direct placement. Patients who have been missing teeth for many years may need grafting first. A CBCT scan reveals this.

Can I do it in one visit?

For conventional implants, no, because the screw needs 3-6 months to integrate with bone. Immediate-loading implants are sometimes possible when bone density is favourable, but most Kerala dentists only recommend this if your specific case is suitable. Ask whether you are a candidate.

What's the cheapest reasonable option?

Around ₹26,000–₹32,000 all-in, using a mid-tier brand like Osstem or MIS, at a Thrissur or Palakkad clinic. Below ₹24,000 we would ask what is being substituted, usually the crown material or the brand of implant.
